How long have Calbar metal paint products been in use?
Calbar has been in use since 1920. Specially
formulated for use on metal roofing and siding,
the Calbar line of products have a long history of
providing long-lasting and beautiful coating solutions

Do I need any specialized equipment to apply Calbar
metal roof paint? No. Calbar paints can
be applied using a roller, brush or airless spray.
All of these methods are inexpensive and easily
purchased at your local building materials supplier.
Certainly, the purchase of an airless sprayer unit is
more expensive than a brush or roller, however a
standard residential sprayer will cost approximately

How long can I expect Calbar paint to last on my roof or
siding? What I really want to know is how long
will it last before I have to repaint it? All
surfaces age differently depending on local weather
conditions, amount of exposure to the sun and the
quality of the paint application. However,
assuming that the application guidelines are followed,
you should obtain 8 - 10 + years of service from your
newly painted metal roof and / or siding.

Are there temperature constraints and / or weather
conditions that I need to be aware of before applying
Calbar metal roof paint? Yes. This is a
very important question.
- Never apply Calbar products on humid or wet
surfaces, or on dry surfaces when rain is threatened
within 2 hours of application.
- Air & surface temperatures must be between 40
deg F and 80 deg F for best results.
- Starting too early in the morning risks
encountering surface dew. Starting too late in
the day risks encountering surface dew and / or
temperatures falling below the 40 deg mark.
Application of paint is best done between the hours
of 10AM and 4PM.
